Day 1: Starting the Journey

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for me as I dive into my accountability sessions project.

While I didn’t start at the beginning of the day, I wanted to use this time to establish the routine and workflow that will carry me forward.

Here’s what my day looked like:

Tasks for the Day:

  1. Create a 2-week social calendar (adjusted to 1 week).

  2. Catch up on emails.

  3. Finish a blog post for an upcoming how-to video.

  4. Film the introductory video for this accountability series.

  5. Break down my Nikon Z8 handheld and gimbal rigs.

  6. Post a fog machine teaser clip.

Obstacles:

• Context Switching: Moving between writing, filming, and planning took more time than expected.

• Time Constraints: Starting halfway through the day made it challenging to tackle my ambitious to-do list.

Results:

While I didn’t complete everything, I made solid progress:

• Finished emails, the blog post, the fog machine teaser, and the introductory video.

• Adjusted my approach to the social calendar, focusing on one week instead of two.

• Deferred the camera breakdown project after realizing it required more preparation than anticipated.

Lessons from Day 1:

• Context switching takes more energy and time than I expected—patience with myself is key.

• Tasks can evolve as I dive deeper, revealing more layers and complexities.

• Starting, even imperfectly, builds momentum for the days ahead.

This journey is about more than checking boxes—it’s about reflection, improvement, and staying accountable to myself. I’m excited to continue tomorrow and see where this project leads.
