Day 2: Tackling Creative and Office Work

Today was another productive step in my accountability journey as I worked through a mix of creative projects and administrative tasks. Context switching was my main challenge again, but I made adjustments to stay focused and get things done.

Here’s what was on my to-do list today:

  1. Film Camera Breakdown: A video detailing my Nikon Z8 handheld and gimbal rig setups.

  2. Write a Blog Post: Supporting materials for an upcoming project.

  3. Water Plants: A necessary hour-long task to keep things thriving.

  4. Fix My Mobile Site: Making my website more user-friendly on phones.

  5. Bookkeeping: Catching up on admin work.

  6. Read 10 Pages: A small but meaningful daily habit.

  7. Create a 30-Second Time-Lapse Video: Highlighting footage I shot in Nelson, BC.

Results:

Completed:

  • Filmed the camera breakdown video (took longer but turned out great).

  • Fixed my mobile site—feels much cleaner now on phones.

  • Watered all the plants and completed bookkeeping tasks.

  • Created the social media teaser video showcasing my time-lapse work.

 Partially Done or Pending:

  • Didn’t write the blog post—might tackle it tonight or move it to tomorrow.

  • Haven’t read yet—typically I do this early in the day, so I’ll adjust my routine for tomorrow.

Lessons from Day 2:

  • Grouping Similar Tasks: Instead of constantly switching between creative and office work, I blocked time for similar tasks, which helped me maintain focus and momentum.

  • Flexibility: Recognizing when to adjust or roll over tasks to another day kept me productive without feeling overwhelmed.

Overall, I’m feeling good about today’s progress. While there’s always room for improvement, the work was enjoyable, and I’m excited to build on this momentum for Day 3.
